How Did Pathaan Become A Blockbuster? Director Revealed The Secret, Told That Now He Is Feeling Nervous About Fighter
Shahrukh Khan-Deepika Padukone and John Abraham's film 'Pathan' was a mega blockbuster. It created history by breaking all the records of earning at the box office. This is the highest-grossing film of Bollywood. This film was released last year in 2023 on January 25. According to media reports, the film had collected Rs 543.09 crore in India. The worldwide earning of the film was Rs 1050.05 crore. Now after this film proved to be a mega superhit, the film's director Siddharth Anand has given his reaction. Along with this, he also remembered the Boycott Bollywood trend and told what problems he had to face at the time of the film's release.
Siddharth Anand has written a long post on X (Twitter). In this post, he shared his feelings about his upcoming film Fighter and the film Pathan which was released a year ago. He wrote in his X-post, 'As the new year approached, I stopped for a moment and started looking back. The year 2023 changed everything for me. It started with a lot of nervousness and uneasiness. My film ‘Pathan’ was being released. Amidst a sea of forces against it. A very strange thing called Boycott Bollywood was the phrase of the season. Rejected by detractors of Hindi films. And then that day came, 25th January. I remember waking up at 7 in the morning because I had slept at 3:30 in the morning after the screening of the cast and crew of the film.
There were a lot of rumors about the film
Siddharth Anand further writes, 'When I woke up, I was feeling shocked. The first show had just started. Mamta and I decided to go to our friend Jayu's house and wait for the public's reaction and reviews. As soon as we were sitting on their terrace the reviews started coming. It was unanimously declared a blockbuster. I couldn't sit any longer..'
Pathan became history
He further writes, 'We decided to go to a theater and see the reaction of the public. Reached the theater but did not watch the entire film with the audience for the first time. I watched the first 30 minutes and I could feel the pulse of the audience, it was something else. And then videos of people dancing to the Pathan song started coming from the theatres. History was made. Pathan became an all-time blockbuster in 2023.
Now there is nervousness about the film Fighter
Siddharth has further said in his post that like in the year 2023, he is feeling a lot of nervousness and restlessness in 2024 also. Like ‘Pathan’, his feeling about the film Fighter is the same. With this post, the director wished his fans a happy new year.
