Hanuman: Producer-distributor of 'Hanuman' Upset With The Arbitrariness Of Theaters, Complains To Telugu Film Producers Council
Prashant Verma's first film 'Hanuman' in the cinematic world PVCU was released on Friday. The film stars Teja Sajja, Varalakshmi Sarathkumar, and Amrita Iyer in lead roles. The film created a good buzz as the makers held a special premiere on Thursday evening. 'Hanuman' is also performing well at the box office. However, the distributor and producer have filed a complaint with the Telugu Film Producers Council (TFPC). This is due to unfair theater practices.
Hanuman's producer-distributor complained
In a statement issued to the press by TFPC, they wrote that Mythri Movies Distributors LLP (distributor) had agreed with some theaters in Telangana to screen the film 'Hanuman' which is scheduled to release on January 12. However, some theaters have not honored the agreement, and have failed to show the film. Angered by this, distributor and producer Niranjan Reddy has filed a complaint with TFPC.
TFPC's rebuke
TFPC wrote that such actions pose a threat to the existence of the Telugu film industry. According to the statement, 'Telugu Film Producers Council strongly condemns the theaters and their unethical practices. Such steps affect the entire Telugu film industry which runs based on faith, morality, and justice. He wrote, 'The theaters which have acted contrary to this, need to immediately honor their agreements and give justice to the film Hanuman.'
Box office clash of 'Hanuman'
'Hanuman' was released on January 12 on the occasion of Sankranti, and so did Trivikram Srinivas' Mahesh Babu-starrer 'Guntur Karam'. Shailesh Kolanu's Venkatesh-starrer 'Saindhava releases on January 13. Also, 'Na Sami Ranga' starring Nagarjuna has hit the theaters today i.e. on 14th January. Ravi Teja starrer 'Eagle' dropped out of the race after the film producer and distributor of Guntur Karam Dil Raju insisted on postponing one of the other films.
