Filmmaker Hansal Mehta made a tweet praising Dunki. He wrote, “This is fine. It gave me everything that I miss in films. It was a poem that was nostalgic, heart-touching, simple, and like our films.
Hansal Mehta further wrote, “This is not a film that I want to over-analyze or overthink. Give me a Rajkumar Hirani film any day. It felt good to end the year with Shah Rukh Khan tugging at your heartstrings, looking lovingly into his eyes and a gentle act.”
