Hansal Mehta shared his thoughts on Dunki and wrote, 'I enjoyed Dunki. Not perfect but so what. That's fine. It gave me everything that I miss in films. It's going to touch the old memories.
Hansal Mehta further wrote, 'This film is heart-touching, simple and ideal for our films. It's not a movie I want to over-analyze or think about too much. Give me a Rajkumar Hirani film any day. It's nice to end the year with Shah Rukh Khan tugging at your heartstrings and looking lovingly into his eyes and playing a lovely role.'
The filmmaker said, 'Dunki is not a drama, not a comedy, not a tragedy and not a thriller. This is completely Rajkumar Hirani's film. Go see it and decide for yourself. Shahrukh's film Dunki is a comedy-drama. Apart from Shahrukh Khan, Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, Vikram Kochhar, and Anil Grover are also seen in important roles in the film.
Shahrukh Khan's film Dunki was released in theaters on 21 December. On December 22, this film clashed with Prabhas' Pan India film 'Salaar'. 'Salaar' has earned Rs 243 crore worldwide in its first two days.
